May-11 : Toolset Rebuilt for TradeStation 9.0

SUMMARY

We recently modified and recompiled our entire collection of studies, so as to improve compatibility with TradeStation 9. This update is compatible with TradeStation 8.5 and all later versions. Updates are available for free or a small fee.

THE ISSUE

Recent builds of TradeStation 9.0 are creating problems for new owners of Jurik Tools. It appears that importing Jurik Tools into the latest version of TradeStation 9.0 produces some studies that will not verify. In contrast, those who already have Jurik Tools in TradeStation and upgrade TradeStation to newer builds, do not experience this problem.

THE FIX

Slightly altering our coding style and recompiling all Jurik Toolset functions resolved the matter. With the exception of one indicator (JMA dStoch), the mathematical functionality of all studies remains unaltered. The exception, "JMA dStoch", was redesigned to include extremely fast parameter settings, and now works better than ever.

REQUIREMENTS

This entire collection of rebuilt studies is NOT compatible with earlier versions from Jurik Research, in the sense that importing both earlier and recent versions together into TradeStation may cause some Jurik studies to become inoperable. Therefore, updating to this new collection requires letting all new functions and studies write over all old functions and studies during the IMPORT process. This way, all prior versions of Jurik studies get replaced with a corresponding update.

The update process requires replacing all Jurik Tools you have for TradeStation. For example, if you now have three tools for TradeStation (e.g. JMA, VEL, RSX), this update requires importing the latest version of all three tools. This guarantees everything will be updated.

PRICING:

It has been our longstanding policy to offer one FREE update to all customers whose most recent purchase of Jurik Tools for TradeStation occurred within the last 6 months. To request a free update of Jurik tools, send an email to JurikresOffice@nfsmith.net, and include your name, street address, date of most recent tool purchase, and list of tools to be updated.

For anyone not qualifying for this free update of Jurik Tools, here is our price schedule: If your most recent purchase of Jurik Tools for TradeStation was less than 8 months ago, the fee is $20 for updating any number of tools (e.g. JMA, VEL, RSX, CFB, DDR, WAV). If it was more than 8 months ago, the fee is $50 for updating one tool, $100 for two or more tools.

If you purchased a copy of our Demonstration Strategies Tutorial Set within the last 6 months, we will include an updated version of that for FREE. If your purchase of the Tutorial Set was more than 6 months ago, the fee is $10.

You can now run Jurik Tools in TradeStation 8 and 2000i running on Windows 2000, XP/32, XP/64, Vista/32, Vista/64 and Server 2003.

Only upgrades to TradeStation 8 will provide our new collection of studies.

Jul-08 : New suite of studies for TradeStation 8

Now available: a collection of studies designed to take advantage of new coding features available in TradeStation 8, such as color gradient control.

The free studies, listed HERE, are created as various .ELD files by our new installer. They are not available as free downloads.

The studies include all necessary Jurik tool functions. These functions are the same as those in our earlier set. Only indicators and strategies (if any) using these functions have changed. This permits users to continue using their customized studies that utilize Jurik functions.

Sep-06 : Free Multi-tool Indicators for MetaStock 7.2.1 & higher

By popular demand, the collection of FREE studies we created for MetaStock and MetaStock Pro versions 8 and higher are now also available for MS version 7.2.1. Apparently a large number of users still own MS version 7.2.1.

FINANCIAL DATA CALCULATOR (FDC)

FDC facilitates trading strategy research and development in a MATLAB-like environment. Unlike MATLAB, each command line in FDC can produce a spreadsheet and chart of the results produced by that line of code. This way you can see what you are producing line by line. However, FDC's language is far more flexible, whereby you can apply a set of indicators or strategies against a set of markets, or against a set of sets of markets. You get the idea. This language is amazingly flexible.

July-10 : Upgraded Toolset for NinjaTrader 6.5 and 7.0

We released an upgraded suite of modules for NinjaTrader 6.5 and 7.0. The new collection includes 18 indicators, 2 functions, 5 demonstration strategies and various coded examples on how to apply NinjaScript modules within other modules.
